Admission Route

Prospective students may apply for the Science (Group A) program (JS5102) from the School of Science, or the Engineering with an Extended Major in Artificial Intelligence program (JS5282) from the School of Engineering, through direct choices in the JUPAS / Non-JUPAS admissions scheme.

Upon completion of the major pre-requisite courses at the end of the first year, students can declare major in Data Science and Technology.

Complete and pass :

  • (MATH1014 / MATH1024) OR MATH1020; AND
  • COMP1023 / COMP2011 / COMP2012 / COMP2012H

Notes:

# The best 24 credits earned at HKUST, with the following courses must be included

  • MATH1014 / MATH1024 / MATH1020; AND
    If credits are transferred for MATH1014 / MATH1024 / MATH1020, the best grade of another MATH course would be used in the calculation. 
  • COMP1023
    If credits are transferred for COMP1023, the course grade of COMP2011 / COMP2012 / COMP2012H would be used in the calculation.
